I just spent the last half and hour or so watching Twitter go crazy over Anon's response to the take down of Megaupload (currently trending under "the internet strikes back" at the time of this posting).
The call to arms went out earlier:
Here's the thing- this will probably prove to be counterproductive to yesterday's massive protests. Still, it feels damn good to watch the people hell bent on dismantling the greatest platform for free speech mankind has ever known get a little cyber cider in their eyes courtesy of Anonymous.
In case you were wondering? Some of the rat fucks behind PIPA are already running scared.

Burn, Burn, Your Eyes Are Gonna Burn....
Some companies really shouldn't be online. Because I think we've just proven that there is such a thing as bad publicity.

What I've Been Getting Myself Into....
Slowly going the way of Steven DenBeste apparently. Anime and manga. Yeah. I know. Still, I've found some rather good items.
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni is an excellent (and highly traumatizing) manga and the anime does a fantastic job of keeping the creepy in tact. You can find both mediums online. Apparently there's also a live action film (ye gods!), but I'm going to hold off on that until I finish the manga series at the very least.
I just started Tetragrammaton Labyrinth. It is...interesting. Also online.
The manga for Furi Kuri (FL CL) is, impossibly, even more bizarre than the anime- and the anime was...well..."If you want to understand FLCL, watch it from beginning to end. The desire will pass."
I've also been trapped in the link maze that is TV Tropes as you can obviously see from this post.

New Web Comic...Well...Not Exactly
So I've been catching up on several web comics while trying to keep posted on the news. I'm also thinking about doing some sort of additional organizing of the link bar like by topic or something. Who knows? (Well, maybe The Shadow, but Alec Baldwin is a douche nozzle so whatever.)
So here's where I'm spending at least half of my internet time at the moment:
A Softer World
Penny Arcade
Tiny Kitten Teeth
Xkcd
Amazing Super Powers

Damnit!
I gripe and bitch about Google's politics and business ethics, but they are where they are for a reason. And their latest unveiling is a fantastic demonstration.

Umm... No
Io9 has either lost its damn fool mind or is in cahoots with whoever is in the process of ginning up the zombie apocalypse. Zombies are not and cannot be sexy/hot. Because they're rotting dead flesh and will eat your intestines out of your screaming soon to be living dead body.
Case closed. Not sexy. Not hot. Be prepared.
