Big Bad Oil Weapon...

...is like dying in virtual reality. Roger Stern's artical in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences says that not only is oil not scarce, but that the ability of the Middle East to use it as a weapon is quite overblown.
Unfortunately our belief in the oil weapon is really what gives it power (get the vr thing now?), and shapes our foreign policy.
